Frequently asked questions
Do I have to pay a subscription after buying it?
No. The calculator works fully without paying anything else, and so does its AI: 82 uses a day, free and forever. You don't need an account with any AI service.
When you activate it you also get 1 month of Premium free, no card needed. Premium is optional: if you want it later, you can get it whenever you like. See Premium
What is Premium and how much does it cost?
Premium is optional. With it you pick your AI (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or DeepSeek), get 10x more AI use, more reasoning and effort, memory of your last questions, notes in PDF and TXT, access to the games and 500 coins a month for cosmetics.
It costs €5.90 a month or €59.90 a year. The calculator comes with 1 month free, and you earn 3 months for every friend who buys with your code. See Premium
How do I connect to the internet?
Our calculator works as a bridge: it uses your phone's mobile data or any Wi-Fi to ask the AI. It can also be used over Bluetooth like headphones (set it up in the web app).
For everything else (photos, notes, texts, etc.) it doesn't need Wi-Fi or a hotspot.
What payment methods do you accept? Can I pay in installments?
Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, and American Express), Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna.
You can pay in installments with Klarna, which appears as an option on the checkout page.
Payment is processed through Shopify: we do not see or store your card details at any time.
Can you solve my complex exercises?
Yes. The calculator is designed to analyse, solve and explain complex problems: it uses a reasoning model and gives you the steps. It's very good at maths, chemistry, physics, finance, engineering and much more.
With Premium you can choose ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, it has memory of your last questions and you can upload your notes in PDF and TXT to give it context. Try it here: SIMULATOR
Does it work without WiFi?
Yes: all normal calculator functions work offline. And you can still access the secret menu to read and search your notes or view your photos.
To consult the AI, it needs a connection, and it connects via WiFi or your mobile hotspot if you're away from home. It also has Bluetooth and airplane mode.
What is the difference between the normal and the Pro with a camera?
The Pro adds a 2K rear camera with autofocus: instead of typing the exercise, you take a picture of it and the AI solves it. This allows it to be much faster and more discreet, and to read entire statements, graphs, and tables, which is precisely what cannot be typed.
Additionally, it has more memory to save notes and photos, and power management that gives it more battery life.
Can you make it in an fx-991CW?
Yes: we're developing a similar model, with more scientific functions and a screen custom-made for us. Expected release: December 2026. See it in What's new and sign up so we can let you know.
How long does the battery last? Does it take regular batteries?
It doesn't use batteries; it uses a specific rechargeable battery that is included, and it comes with its charger in the box.
The battery lasts between 15 and 20 hours of continuous use and charges in about 30-60 minutes.
I want to resell it or buy multiple units, how do I do that?
For wholesale, please use a separate form from the contact form: there you tell us the volume and country, and with that, we'll give you specific conditions.
https://vovocorp.com/pages/revender
Applications are reviewed one by one and we will respond to you there. The online store is only for end consumers: purchasing from it does not authorize resale.
Can I write to it in my language?
Yes. The AI understands and answers in any language.
The calculator's menu and keyboard come in 8 languages: Spanish, English, Italian, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic and Hebrew. In Arabic and Hebrew you type in their own alphabet and the screen runs right to left. You can change the language whenever you want in Settings.
If your language uses a different alphabet (Russian or Chinese, for example), with the camera version you take a photo of the exercise and it answers in your language.
Can I use it as a normal calculator?
Yes, until you enter the secret PIN, which you can choose, the calculator behaves exactly like a normal calculator.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes, you can cancel your order before it goes into production. Contact us and we will process a full refund.
Is the payment secure?
Absolutely. Payment is processed securely through Shopify. Your banking information is encrypted and is never stored or passes through our servers.
Do you ship internationally?
We ship to over 100 countries and shipping is free in all cases. To check if yours is included, add the calculator to your cart and go to the checkout page: all the countries we ship to will be listed there.
